Long Branch Trail (MD) Description

The Long Branch Trail is a neighborhood trail tracing the Long Branch Creek beginning at its confluence with Sligo Creek in Takoma Park, to Piney Branch Road in Long Branch. The trail is an easy ride: its hard surface provides an ADA-accessible path for walkers, bikers, dog walkers and families with children. It connects multiple neighborhoods to nearby schools, playgrounds, bus stops and a Long Branch Community Center.

Parking and Trail Access

As this is a residential trail, access is primarily through the adjacent streets. Parking is available at Long Branch Community Center (8700 Piney Branch Rd, Silver Spring).

Sedate woodsy trail

The Long Branch Trail is a nice sedate, woodsy trail that is short but sweet. Provides nice access to the Long Branch Recreation Center as well as several local parks. Offers a restful retreat from traffic and noise. Would be nice if it was extended further south to connect to the Sligo Creek Trail.
