This bike and pedestrian path threads through the park of the same name. The trail exists in 2 sections: the northern segment begins in the Fairland Recreational Park and winds south, eventually ending at Gunpowder Road, across I-95. The southern segment is in Little Paint Branch Park and connects to the Beltsville Community Center. The trail is part of the Anacostia Tributary Trail System. An 2.1-mile extension is currently under construction to connect this trail to the Paint Branch Trail across the I-95/I-495 exchange.
There is parking available along the trail at the Beltsville Community Center, in Little Paint Branch Park (3900 Sellman Rd). Additionally at the northern trailhead, where it meets the Greencastle trail along Greencastle Rd, there are several parking options.
