The Lincoln Hill Pathway provides an uninterupted alternative to busy Lincoln Avenue (and busier US 101) via an "urban canyon" between the soundwalls of US 101 and the SMART commuter rail project. The path has a moderate grade that tunnels under Lincoln Avenue on- and off-ramps and includes access to Linden Lane.
The pathway connects to bike lanes on Los Ranchitos Road, and cyclists traveling north may want to use the bike lanes since the traffic signal at Merrydale Road and N. San Pedro Road is not bike or pedestrian activated and enters an area of busy traffic.
Along with the Cal Park Hill Tunnel farther south, the Lincoln Hill Pathway is a critical link in the North-South Greenway that Marin County is building to provide a non-motorized transportation corridor throughout the county.
There is no dedicated parking for the Lincoln Hill Pathway. The trail can be reached from Merrydale Road, Lincoln Avenue, Linden Lane, Belle Avenue, Paloma Avenue, Pacheco Street/Stevens Place and Mission Avenue.
