We took the dog out in her cart. Trail is a bit tight for a trailer and it’s rough. Probably never will fix because river destroys it when it rains. I thought I was going somewhere new and wife says we have been here before and after seeing the old Zoar bridge I realized I have did this trail many times. Not a lot of people on it so not bad. Dog liked the areas where she could get out and jump in the Tuscarawas River. She’s sleeping now.
Very beautiful trail with alot of trees and a river. Loved the old stone tunnel and old barn. Very nastalgic looking.Well maintained. Appreciate the crew out clearing limbs and debris off trail, when we were out riding. Thanks
Nice paved trail through the heart of Ohio Amish country. Pass through a Handful of small towns. Leave a little extra time to enjoy them. Trail has great scenery throughout. Looking forward to returning this fall.
Amazing trail! Went cycling there today, well maintained a great place to go walking or biking it wasn't busy when I was there. Definitely going back! Love it!!
Nice for walking and biking. I’m glad they have a paved and off-road option. If you split off from the paved trail, you can find your way to the river front. The abandoned buildings do have squatters so I would recommend staying on the paved trail if you are by yourself. There are pull up bars and exercise stations throughout the paved course as well.
We ( recumbent trike & e-bike) headed West from the Kiwanis park. Turned around after 9km as the surface was really tough on the trike. There’s 2 good wheel tracks for bikes, but the trike had to ride partially in the coarse trail ballast. Scenic area with farm views and a huge windmill farm in the distance.
Nice, paved trail. Great scenery and remote location make for a wonderful summer evening ride. Looking forward to going back this fall.
This could be a great trail. We went north to Fredericksburg from Millersburg. The trail was smooth for the first 5 miles, then got rough. It is shared with horses and had droppings on both sides. There is no restrooms north of Millersburg.
In my opinion, this might weep be one of the top 10, if not top 5 trails in Ohio. Beautiful river crossings, rolling hills and a great mix of shade and sun. Watering and bike maintenance stations await you in Danville, Howard, Gambier, and Mt. Vernon. In addition, the trail itself is very well maintained. Happy trails!
Started in Danville and rode to Gambier. Rode into town (not far from the trail) and had lunch at the Village Inn. Great lunch. Then back to the trail and on to Mount Vernon where we finished. Back to Danville after that. Plenty of restrooms and places to stop and sight see. 30 miles round trip for us. Excellent ride. We are seniors and not seasoned riders. The trail is very flat. Enjoy!
Awesome little trail. Flat, nice pavement. Not far off of I70. Very shady. Was pleasantly surprised as I just was looking for a quick workout on the way back from Columbus to Pittsburgh.
