The crown jewel of trails in Ashtabula County Ohio!
Love this trail and it is open all year round.
I suggest starting it at the Munson Hill Trailhead or the Austinburg Trailhead. Rent an E-Bike during the summer at On the Lake Electric Bike Company. They drop off the bikes at the trailhead.

We live close to this trail, but had not tried walking it in many years! We read the last review and it sounded good so we went a little over halfway and turned around. We started at kids Mill at the covered bridge. We walked to the new hamburg bridge and then returned. The trail is very well maintained…..we were greatly pleased! We met Joe on the trail, he does a lot of maintenance volunteer work and had a great by lot really nice conversation with him. He was busy working on the trail today.
Today we rode about 13 miles south from the northern most point. Easy peasy, except some small branches & twigs from a bad storm. Wide, flat trail in real good shape.
Early August, hot Summer day. We traveled over an hour to get to this trail, worth the commute. Parked in Orwell and biked to Austinburg where we had lunch at the Subway located in the Pilot truck stop, just a half- mile off the trail. Take the Clay Street exit from the trail. Trail is mainly shaded so that helped! We ended up biking to I-90 before turning around to head back to our car in Orwell. 40 mile round trip. A beautiful day on the trail for an enjoyable ride as always. Surface is paved in very good condition, flat in both directions. Several parking areas along the trail and a few random benches and/or picnic tables.
It’s a beautiful wooded ride. Only rode a small portion of the stone path.
Enchanting with beautiful scenery and lots of shade.
Beautiful ride
Rather than announcing on your left, just say passing. People start moving left and right and get confused about their left and right. I end up saying "your other left"
Presque Isle State Park is a beautiful park located in Erie PA at Lake Erie. Paved trail loop within the park. Some of the trail is share the road which isn't all that bad. The vehicle speed limit is 25mph and the park rangers and PSP do patrol it. At the Coast Guard station there is a lighthouse on the pier, which they are rehabbing the pier this summer. There is another lighthouse in the park, Presque Isle Light, which is open for visiting and climbing and staffed by volunteers, seasonal. The park also offers hiking trails and kayaking, as well as boating, beaches, fishing and picnic grounds. Many restrooms and parking lots along the trail. So much to see and do here and of course enjoy the paved bike path. We visited on a weekday due to sometimes the park is crowded on weekends. As always, PA state parks are free to enter.
June, 2024 ride....enjoy the shade! Most of the nearly 12 mile loop around Lake Wilhelm is very well shaded. A great trail for hot sunny summer months!
Parked at the Spillway, at mile marker 1. Stopped and fed the ducks and fish. At the Spillway, there is a snack shack and public restrooms available. The trail is approx 3.5 miles in length. We went up to Linesville and back and down to mile 0 at Fries Road. If you're looking for more miles, can take Fries Road (low traffic road) to Tuttle Point where there is a beach and restrooms as well as campground newly renovated after have been closed since 2009. Can also follow Lake Road into Espyville. Beautiful area to ride. We got in a total of 23 miles between the trail ride and back roads near the trail . This trail runs through Pymatuning State Park.
The trail in great shape. Saw eagle, deer, blue herons. Very dry considering the recent rains.
