Arvada's residents are lucky to have access to more than 150 miles of multiuse trails to fit every need. For every prominent regional trail like the 12-mile Ralston Creek Trail, there are many local pathways that criss-cross neighborhoods and connect to parks and other destinations. The Discovery Trail is one of the latter. Starting at the northeast corner of Lake Arbor Park, the concrete hike and bike trail heads north to Chase Drive. It traces the west edge of Far Horizons Park where it forks into two, one branch continuing north to W. 86th Avenue and the other heading northwest to Otis Drive. The trail sits in the swathe between rows of houses and it is not uncommon to see people strolling or walking their dogs.
There is parking on the northeast side of Lake Arbor Park, on Pomona Drive. To get there, approach Pomona Drive from the west and head east to the park.
