Print Friendly MapEagle Lake Trail is a 2-mile paved pathway stretching from Del City to Eastern Avenue in neighboring Oklahoma City. This short riverside trail, with a few extensions, could connect some of the Oklahoma City'metro's prominent trails. It starts at Eagle Lake in Del City and winds west along the North Canadian River, which flows into the mighty Oklahoma. The trail ducks under I-40, Reno Avenue and finally curves underneath Eastern Avenue and back up to the roadway level to its endpoint. To reach the Oklahoma River Trails, continue west following the dirt road that sits right on the south bank of the river (next to the American Indian Cultural Center) for about 1 mile. Near it's western endpoint, the Eagle Lake Trail also passes near the beginning of the South Grand Trail on E Grand Boulevard, but unfortunately, no direct connector exists between the two trails.
Parking is available at Eagle Lake. The trailhead is at the back of the lake and there is a short dirt section to access it. From there it is a nice clean asphalt trail.
Nice little trail to ride bikes on.
This short trail is a delight. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the length. However, with a touring/gravel/mountain bike you can access the river trail via a dirt/gravel road (about 3/4 mile) for a much longer ride. Because the trail is not officially connected to rest of the trail system (yet) it's not busy and there is usually nice bird watching as you ride.
