We had a beautiful day riding this trail! There were a lot of people, however, that's to be expected on a wonderful Sunday afternoon. The only downside was that we were stopped and given a warning, with my name taken and entered into the officers computer, by a County Sherif officer that e-bikes are prohibited in all Bergen County parks. Unfortunately we won't be back to this trail again.
Went from the Thuway area in Poughkeepsie over the walkway and ride to Hopewell junction .Nice trail well groomed , paved not much to look at but very cool what the volunteers did to the RR depot , signal house and pavilion, the depot museum was great . Went to Daddy O’s restaurant on the trail , good food . The NY empire trail continues along live tracks goes I believe quite far .
Super calm, people are kind, and a great way to relax!!
Biked the entire run, from Woodbury to Massapequa. Completely paved path the entire way. Only half-dozen “small bumps” along the entire way due to tree roots, but seriously, nothing to complain about.
This isn’t the most scenic trail in the world, but it’s in spectacular condition, paved from end to end, busy on weekends but never overcrowded. There are a few nice stops along the trail. Beware: there is a slightly confusing part in Goshen where the trail has a short gap - the signage is not great so you might fumble around to find the next section, but it’s totally worth the trouble.
This is a great trail that is now suffering from neglect . The weeds are so overgrown that the trail is almost down to a single lane.
Nice and wide. Plenty of room for walkers, runners and bikers alike. Hudson Valley really has a great series of trails and this is one of them. Connects the Walkway Over the Hudson to the Maybrook Trailway. Bikers dream.
Easy riding trail. Lots of crossings There are no center posts on some of the crossings making the crossings much easier to navigate. Hope the rest of the center posts could be removed
......of having a trail where there is nowhere to park???
Great trail did from Harriman to Middletown plenty of opportunities to get food & water . I recommend Mason’s Place in New Hampton right on the trail breakfast lunch , dinner & bar . Very cool 1866 place , lots of history , good food . The owner Brett was very accommodating and offered to stay late for us .
Rode from Harriman ti right before downtown Chester. The trail is closed for maintenance at about the 7 mile marker.
