Schuylkill River Trail

Fantastic Trail!!

My husband and I use this trail a lot with our electric bikes. Well maintained but I do have concerns about some of the shallow rooted trees that must be trimmed and/or removed. Amy Marotta

Cold Spring Bike Path

Straight paved trail. Connects to two other trails.

September, 2024 by nnesky

We bicycled the Cold Spring Bike Path, the Middle Township Bike Path and the Dennis Township Bike Path. They are fully connected, paved and straight. It's like a highway from north to south. It follows the power lines and is mostly sunny. There's very little to see along the way. It's great for exercise - bicycling, jogging, inline skating, pushing a stroller. The best part - no cars!!

Gloucester Township Health and Fitness Trail (aka Blackwood Railroad Trail)

The tunnel is finally asphalt and the barriers are gone. We are finally about to finish the trail on the other side of 42 again. Yay! Let's hope that actually extend it like they plan on doing.

Monroe Township Bike Path

Absolute Favorite Trail... Top 3 I've ever Biked...

August, 2024 by traillink989

I think you'll really enjoy this trail. I've biked it over a dozen times, and it never disappoints. One of my favorite activities is riding this trail with some friends, drinking and driving and and doing a few sprints. The trail is very clean, and the only issue I’ve had was with gnats once, but my sunglasses took care of that. The path is mostly shaded, with about 80% of it lined with beautiful, towering trees that provide a cool breeze. It runs alongside townhomes and farmlands, adding to the scenic experience.

We usually park near the health facility off the main road and start our ride by the large metal tube factory.

p.s. - i always feel bad for the people who skateboard or walk this monster because when you gotta turn around it's a heck of a walk...

Enola Low Grade Trail

Not a favorite

As someone else noted, this basically seems like a fairly well maintained access road for the company that owns the utility poles that line the entire route--on both sides of the trail for the first several miles, accompanied by chain link fencing on the river side. The trail is relatively flat, crushed limestone, wide, hot and sunny, with very little shade provided along its entire length. As a staff member at Columbia Crossing visitor center suggested, it would be a fine trial to ride at peak fall foliage time, as it runs directly along the Susquehanna and you could enjoy the colors on its opposite bank of trees for the first 10 miles or so. But to my taste, there's little reason to continue beyond that unless you're just trying to get your mileage in. Well before the Martic Forge trestle the trail diverges from the river and becomes a wide, hot, green tunnel with no towns, interests, or services until its abrupt end.

Middle Township Bike Path

nice surprise.

I was happy to ride this path because it was asphalt. Just wow! The path is so well maintained. The brush is kept trimmed and about 3 ft back from the wide paved path. The mile markers are painted every 10th on the ground. This was such a pleasant ride!!!!

Kent Island South Trail

Great Trail

July, 2024 by tpslucks

Liked the trail very much. However, I’ve seen other maps that show this trail actually begins on the north side of Rt-50 on the westbound side and connects to the trailhead. Is that portion part of this trail? It would make for a much longer route.

Milton Rail-Trail

lovely semi-forested, pathed walk

This trail goes through forest, field, and some pretty neighborhoods. Excellent for Pokemon players, dog walkers, and meanderers.

Michael N. Castle C&D Canal Trail

Great cycling along the Canal

July, 2024 by knewman1717

I ride this trail end to end around 2-3 times a week. It needs to be repaired off the Summit/Lums Pond parking lot. There needs to be a speed limit set for EV bikers. Dog owners need to keep their dogs on leash at all times. I've been run at by off leash dogs at Summit where people can camp overnight. Not a great experience.
It is a beautiful ride. Just be considerate of others and share the trail, please.

Seaside Nature Trail

Sandy Path Through The Coastal Forest

July, 2024 by jmcginnis12@gmail.com

Part of the Cape Henlopen State Park trail network, the Seaside Nature Trail branches off the Cape Henlopen State Park Bike Loop at the nature center and gives visitors the opportunity to explore the pine barrens, scrublands and a portion of beach on the Delaware Bay on the park's north side. Although the sandy surface of the trail is loose in some sections and poorly suited to cycling, it offers a peaceful and picturesque hiking experience. Highlights include the entrance to a World War II-era bunker, whose overgrown and decaying gate resembles a scene from a post-apocalyptic movie, the panoramic views along the Delaware Bay and the crab statues in front of the nature center. Trail users should also check out the nature center itself to learn more about the wildlife they may encounter and the state park's fishing pier and bait & tackle shop are just a short walk down the beach at Delaware Bay.
