Canyon Rim Trail

Not For Everything

July, 2024 by 208blueskypig

The trail is asphalt but there are wide, deep cracks the width of the trail and are all over the trail. Lots of trash along the trail, especially by the bridge and tourist center. It could be a great trail, but the city will not maintain it properly. You can bike it, but it will be hairy if you try to inline on it with those cracks! Parts of the trail you have to go onto the road and the west end of the trail is really degraded.

Absolutely gorgeous. We were on our way to Yellowstone this summer and stoped in twin falls to check out this bike trail. It did not disappoint. I have added it to my top 5 most beautiful trails.

Canyon Rim Trail

The description here is outdated

September, 2021 by bonnie.simone49

As of today, September 4, 2021, the description of the Snake River Trail is out of date. There is now a continuous trail from Shoshone Falls on the East to Washington Street on the West. I’m not sure of the exact distance, but it’s at least 5 miles 1 way, maybe a little longer. I ride it several times a week, weather permitting. The ride up out of Shoshone Falls is quite steep with hairpin turns. I have an electric bike so I can do it easily, but would have a hard time otherwise. I’m a 72 year old female. Younger athletic folks with good bikes can come up with a bit of extensive effort.

Canyon Rim Trail

Such Fun

We started at the Shoshone Falls and pulled the hill up to the rim. We have ebikes so it was no big deal. The views are spectacular. We then went on through farm land, Evil Knieval’s failed attempt to jump the canyon location, residential areas and to the welcome center at the fabulous bridge in Twin Falls. We were able to watch a base jumper (unexpected treat). We then went about a mile beyond the welcome center and turned back. It was hot. Once you are up on the rim it’s level. The whole trail is paved. Worth it!

very nice ride to Shoshone Falls! trail map needs an update.

More trail is completed than what appears in the app. We went from the trails endpoint all the way to Shoshone Falls, going off track on roads once because of map inaccuracy. Return trip never used roads. Splendid views of Snake River and the falls and other rapids. Not a super long ride, but the area near the falls presents challenging hills.

Goods Views

Twin Falls gas taken steps to acquire easements for the canyon rim trails which is cool. There is disconnect that goes through neighborhood s and its not marked near the shopping district. Then the trail ends at Eastland Road where there are no bike lanes to Falls Ave to Champion Rd which will then connect you to the East segment.
